It is twelve days from the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in America, which signaled the commencement of George W Bush’s “War on Terrorism”. As the world watches the last American soldiers leave Afghanistan, and the Taliban reassert their dominance over the Asian state, the world is left scratching their heads over what twenty years of warfare has meant for the country.
